OCC Chancellor's Scholarship provides up to $4,000 for educational expenses in addition to  Michigan Community College Guarantee for Oakland County graduates

Oakland County high school seniors and adult and alternative education program graduates may qualify for up to  $4,000  with the  Chancellor’s Scholarship at Oakland Community College (OCC).

The scholarship provides $2,000 per academic year for books, supplies, technology and other indirect educational expenses. Students with a strong academic record may renew for a second year.

To qualify, new applicants need a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA) based on Fall 2025 grades and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By completing the FAFSA, students are also eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship/Michigan Community College Guarantee, which allows them to combine state and OCC funds.

To receive the second-year renewal, students must complete 30 credit hours per academic year at OCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress (including a 3.0 GPA or better) and earn a certificate or an associate’s degree before transferring to another higher education institution or leaving OCC.

“The great thing about OCC’s Chancellor’s Scholarship is that it helps cover indirect educational expenses that aren’t included in tuition,” said Peter Provenzano, Jr., OCC Chancellor. “Combined with the Michigan Community College Guarantee, it gives students a powerful opportunity to minimize or eliminate debt while earning a certificate or degree – and a tremendous foundation for higher earnings and lower unemployment over an individual’s lifetime.”

The OCC Chancellor’s Scholarship application deadline is April 17, 2026. Eligibility criteria and applications are available online at Chancellor's Scholarships.
