While students are taking classes at OCC this summer, the College is also actively involved in many community events.  Following is a list of the events and activities OCC is involved with this summer in Oakland County:

  • Farmington Farmer’s Market - August 2
    • Faculty and staff from OCC’s Engineering, Manufacturing and Industrial Technology program will be on hand to provide information on all certificates and associate degrees available in the Skilled Trades disciplines such as Automobile Servicing, Computer Aided Design, Pre-Engineering, Machine Tool Technology, Robotics, Technological Sciences and Welding/Fabrication Technology.
    • OCC will also sponsor two fall Farmington Farmer’s Market Saturdays with Admissions and Continuing Education the focus on Oct. 11 and Chef Doug Ganhs from the Culinary Studies Institute presenting a pumpkin carving demonstration on Oct. 25.
       
  • National Night Out - Auburn Hills – August 5
    Officers from OCC’s Public Safety department, together with Faculty and Staff from OCC’s Public Services training programs, join the community handing out treats at the Auburn Hills Community Center from 6-8 p.m. Information on OCC’s local, state and national training programs will be available.
  • Milford Memories – August 8-10
    • OCC will have an exhibit booth where community members can get information on the College’s academic programs, applying to OCC and find out more about how to qualify for free tuition this fall semester.
  • Arts, Beats and Eats - Royal Oak, August 29 - September 1
    • OCC Day is Saturday, August 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and OCC students and employees are admitted free with OCC identification.

In addition to these upcoming events, OCC is continuing its partnership this summer and fall with the DIA and its Inside/Out program for the sixth year to display 15 of the DIA’s high-quality art reproductions on the College’s five campuses in Auburn Hills, Farmington Hills, Royal Oak, Southfield and Waterford.
