College Increases Access to Funds with Federal Emergency Grants, New Scholarship System and More
OCC has a variety of new ways to make it easier for students to access funds and help pay for tuition and educational expenses with the fall semester, beginning August 30. The College recently launched a new scholarship portal to find and apply for scholarships as well as announcing additional dollars through a Federal grant program. In addition, the College continues to offer a tuition payment plan and online tuition payment to make it even easier to pay for fall semester classes.
OCC launches Scholarship Universe website to make applying for scholarships easier
The process of finding and applying for scholarships just got easier with Scholarship Universe. With Scholarship Universe, the system matches students to their best scholarship opportunities and enables them to apply online to multiple scholarships through a personalized portal.
Applications for Fall 2021 scholarships are now open, and students can apply at the Scholarship Universe website. The Fall 2021 scholarship application deadline is Saturday, September 4.
New Federal emergency grant program available for all active OCC Fall 2021 students

OCC is making available the Federal government’s HEERF (Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund) grant to all students who are registered for classes at OCC for fall 2021. The amount of the award a student can qualify for depends on each students’ part-time or full-time credit status. Eligibility for the grant will be determined after OCC’s drop/add period, with awards expected to be disbursed by Thursday, September 30. Students should watch their OCC email for updates on this HEERF grant program.
Tuition payment plan, other online services for students
In addition to the scholarships and Federal grant opportunities, OCC students can make paying for Fall classes easier by enrolling in the Tuition Payment Plan to defer tuition payment into three or four smaller payments. For more information, visit Tuition Payment Plan.
Students can also pay their tuition online using a credit or debit card, or direct withdrawal from their bank account, or split payments across multiple payment methods. For more information on tuition payment, payment deadlines and tuition refunds, visit MyOCC Students Menu.
Student Accounts available on campus and online
The Student Account offices have re-opened at the Auburn Hills and Royal campuses, and all student services continue to be offered online as at the Student Services webpage and through MyOCC.
Watch OCC email for more details
Students should check their OCC email for updates on scholarships, HEERF grant, financial aid, payment due dates and other tuition information.
