ACCESS Testing Policy and Procedures

The ACCESS Office helps coordinate approved testing accommodations. These accommodations provide equal access but do not change course content, standards, or grading.

Scheduling

• Testing appointments must be scheduled at least one (1) week in advance with both the instructor and ACCESS.
• If a reader or scribe is needed, at least one (1) week’s notice is required.
• Exams must be taken at the same time as the class unless the instructor approves a different time.
• If ACCESS cannot match the class time, the exam must be completed within 24 hours of the class exam time, unless the instructor approves otherwise.
• Testing must take place on the campus where the class is held.
• A private testing room is not guaranteed.
• If testing at the Academic Testing Center, students must still schedule with ACCESS. ACCESS will send testing details to the Testing Center.

Student Responsibilities For Testing

Students must:

• Ensure the instructor submits the exam to ACCESS before the scheduled test time.
• Remain visible to ACCESS staff during testing. Exams are monitored in person or by camera.
• Store all personal items (coats, bags, phones, smart devices, etc.) in the designated area.
• Stay in the testing area unless given permission to leave.
  

Testing Integrity

If there is suspected misconduct (such as using unauthorized materials, using devices, communicating with others, or leaving without permission):

• The incident will be documented and reported to the instructor.
• The instructor will decide on any academic consequences based on course policies.
