College-Level Examination Program

College-Level Examination Program

Get Your Degree Faster

Receive college credit for what you already know through the College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP). The program allows you to test out of introductory courses and move to more advanced courses, saving you time and money on your OCC degree. You can take CLEP exams at official CLEP test centers or at home with remote proctoring and you’ll receive your scores immediately afterward.

Resources to Prepare You for Success

We offer a learning express library to help you prepare for CLEP exams. Watch our video tutorial on how to use the learning express library. Check with an OCC Librarian for additional resources.

OCC accepts CLEP exam scores and awards credit for many courses.

Please note that CLEP credit cannot be used toward Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) requirements and may need to be reevaluated by a transfer institution.  Students are encouraged to check their transfer institution for their CLEP policy before taking any tests.

*Some OCC programs may require B level minimum scores.  Check with a counselor regarding minimum scores for your program.
