OCC’s Counseling department is offering a series of fall seminars providing insights and inspiration on better time management, choosing the right career path, and steps to improve your academic success. These seminars include access to free resources in career exploration as well as seminars to maintain a balanced life, improve your GPA and more. Sign up today!

Staying on Track and Managing Your Time in College on Wednesday, Nov. 9, Noon-1 p.m.  

This seminar will show you how to keep the energy, effort, and motivation going while in college. Time management techniques for college students will be introduced to assist with staying focused and on track to graduate or transfer. The seminar will additionally focus on how to maintain a healthy balance of all the commitments in your life while in college. 

Choose a Career That’s Right for You on Thursday, Nov. 10, Noon-1 p.m.  

This session will introduce students to Career Cruising as a resource. This session will introduce students to Career Cruising as a resource for determining a career that fits with your values, interests and skills. 

Choosing the Right Healthcare Career for You on Tuesday, Nov. 15, Noon-1 p.m.  

This session will explore the different allied health programs offered at OCC. This session will explore the different allied health programs offered at OCC, what career the programs lead to, and provides participants on how to make decisions based on skills, interest, and abilities. 

Steps to Academic Success and Improving Your GPA on Wednesday, Nov. 16, Noon-1 p.m. 

This session will give you techniques on how to set goals in the classroom. This session will give you techniques on how to set goals in the classroom and help you learn to take personal responsibility towards your academic success and improve your GPA. Academic Standing at OCC will discuss how to achieve and maintain a 2.0 GPA and above to stay in Good Academic Standing.
