Fire Academy
The Oakland Fire Academy offers training for all levels of the Fire Service, from our Basic Fire Academies and Fire Fighter I & II programs, to our Advanced Fire Officer, Hazardous Materials and Specialized Programs. We are able to provide the most progressive didactic and practical training available at the CREST site, a virtual live lab setting and one of the premier training facilities in the country.
Located on Oakland Community College’s Auburn Hills Campus, the Oakland Fire Academy has access to furnished houses, a bank, convenience store and motel as well as a five story live fire training tower and separate flashover unit for practical instruction. Lectures are conducted in comfortable, climate controlled classrooms utilizing the latest in instructional presentation technology including video conferencing and wireless internet capabilities.
In addition to our on-site training capabilities, we are able to bring almost all of our programs to an area that is close to your geographic service area. This allows your agency to increase their training opportunities while reducing the need to send your fire fighters out of their response area.
