Fire Fighter Technology
OCC is committed to fire service training and education. We established the Oakland Fire Training Institute in 1990. This program offers fire based degree and certificate programs. Get initial and advanced training in the fire service.
The degree program leads to an associate in applied science degree. New or experienced in this field? Gain an academic background that prepares you to work in the fire science area. Or earn credentials toward a promotion.

Certificate of Achievement
The Certificate of Achievement is a validation of employability of students with specific work-related skills. Candidates for a Certificate of Achievement must have completed the specified courses identified within the academic program section of the catalog with an overall 2.00 grade point average and a minimum of 10 credit hours at OCC.
Students who have successfully completed their State of Michigan Fire Fighter I and II certifications will be granted credit for FFT 1520, FFT 1540, FFT 2510, EMS 1200, and PER 1590
