Michigan Vehicle Code Update

Instructor:

Lance R. Cook is a Lieutenant with the Michigan State Police, Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit. He has over 33 years of law enforcement experience, and teaches a variety of traffic-related topics.

Course Description:

A one-day course that provides an update and overview of the Michigan Vehicle Code (MVC) and other related traffic law. The course will provide a look at recent changes from the 2019-2020 legislative session, a general refresher on Michigan traffic law, and clarification on frequently misunderstood sections.

Topics Include:

• An update of recent changes to the MVC and related laws
• Authority and Penalties
• Speed Limits
• Right-of-way, turning, and lane use
• Pedestrians and bicycles
• Non-traditional vehicles
