A variety of employment opportunities exist for dental hygienists, including the following: treating patients in general dental or specialty offices, public health settings, hospitals and long term care facilities; serving armed forces, working as consumer advocates, teaching, and research. There are also excellent programs offering baccalaureate and graduate degrees in dental hygiene for those wishing to pursue additional education.

Employment Opportunities

Current job market projections are very favorable, but as in any occupation, opportunities can be influenced by economic fluctuations.
