Flexible class formats, scholarships and tuition-free options make college more affordable 

Current and new students, including summer guest students, can register for summer and fall classes at Oakland Community College beginning in March. OCC offers flexible in-person, online and hybrid course formats, along with numerous scholarships and tuition-free opportunities. These include Michigan Community College Guarantee for recent high school graduates and Michigan Reconnect for eligible Michigan residents age 21 and older.  

Summer 2026 class schedules are available online beginning February 27. Priority registration opens March 9, followed by open registration March 10. Classes begin May 11.  
 
Fall 2026 class schedules are available online beginning March 20. Priority registration opens March 30, with open registration beginning March 31. Classes begin August 31.   
 
New students are encouraged to visit OCC Admissions for information on getting started.  Guest students home for the summer or seeking additional credits can get started on OCC’s Guest Students  page. High school students interested in Dual Enrollment can get a jump start on college credits including pre-requisites, language, art courses and more.  
 
Paying for college info sessions  
 
OCC is hosting free, virtual “Paying for College” information sessions to help students understand the variety of college funding options, including scholarships, grants and federal aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Register online.   
 
Affordable pathways to pay for college 
 
OCC offers one of the lowest in-district tuition rates in Michigan, along with a variety of grants, scholarships, tuition-free programs and financial aid. 

  • Chancellor’s Scholarship – 2026 Oakland County high school graduates may qualify for up to $2,000 per year, renewable for a second year
  • OCC Scholarship Universe – A scholarship-matching tool that connects students to internal and external scholarship opportunities. 
  • FAFSA – Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) unlocks multiple opportunities for grants, scholarships and more.
  • Michigan Community College Guarantee – Recent high school graduates are eligible to earn a skill certificate or degree at their local community college tuition-free by completing the FAFSA.
  • Michigan Reconnect – Free in-district tuition to qualifying Michigan residents age 21+ years of age to earn an associate degree or certificate.
  • Student Employment/Work Study – Flexible campus jobs working up to 20 hours a week to build a student’s resume and earn money while attending college.
