OCC Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

Series of Events and Proclamation Highlight Career Opportunities 

In celebration of the U.S. Department of Labor’s National Apprenticeship Week, Nov. 14-18, OCC is hosting a series of events to highlight the benefits of Registered Apprenticeships. These events address area workforce challenges and provide students with a pathway to high-wage, in-demand technical and professional careers.

“Community college technical programs are a gateway to professional careers that help our economy develop and grow,” said OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano. “OCC’s Registered Apprenticeships assist business and industry with a workforce solution for building, recruiting and retaining a talented and diverse labor pool.”  

The OCC National Apprenticeship Week events include:  

Nov. 16 – Employer and Apprentice Appreciation Celebration at OCC, Auburn Hills campus, F Building from 4:30-6:30pm.  For more information, contact Cameron Albring  

Nov. 17 – Medical Assistant Registered Apprenticeship Information Session with OCC, Oakland County Michigan Works and Henry Ford Healthcare System, Highland Lakes Campus, Room 401 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Register online 

Nov. 17 – Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trades Pre-apprenticeship Information Sessions 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Register online
