Pontiac Creative Arts Center Features OCC Student Art Exhibition

The third annual juried art exhibit runs now through April 19.

The Pontiac Creative Arts Center is running an exciting collection of OCC student art, including drawing, painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, ceramics and design. OCC’s annual Student Art Exhibition exhibit opened in March with an award ceremony.

Organized by art faculty Lindsey Dezman, the juried, multidisciplinary exhibition highlights the students’ impressive artwork. It is the College's third annual event. Current OCC students were eligible to submit their work, which must have been created in an OCC art class within the past year.

"OCC’s student exhibition in Pontiac is a beautiful example of the College’s commitment to the arts,” said OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano. “Events like this one, OCC’s music and theatre events, and of course our partnership with the DIA’s InsideOut program, ensure art can be experienced by everyone in our community.”

“A special thank you to event organizer, Lindsey Dezman, and OCC’s talented art faculty who work hard each day to teach, nurture and provide opportunities for our students and community," he said.

At the opening, 11 OCC student artists received additional recognition and cash prizes for their work with several awards granted. Prize funding was generously provided by The Kegham Tazian Art Prize Fund, DeRoy Testamentary Foundation and OCC’s Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice
