Meet 2022 Grad: Jordan Peeples

Jordon Peeples

“The sky is the limit for anything you are doing. With acting, some may say it’s not the best major to have but if every actor was told this, we would have no actors. If your mind is set on something and you have vision to do it, you will be able to achieve it no matter what people tell you. Getting my Associate Degree tells me I can do anything I want in life.” - Jordon Peeples

Major: Associate in Arts
OCC Student Involvement/Honors: Phi Theta Kappa Orchard Ridge Chapter; Dean’s List; High Honors Oakland Early College

Q: What were your biggest accomplishments?
A: My biggest accomplishments were receiving an invitation to be a Phi Theta Kappa member and getting on the Dean’s List while having a job.

Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I’m most proud of my efforts and determination to not give up in tough situations. This semester was very stressful for me with a different job, but I continued to have good grades while working.

Q: What does this milestone (graduation day) mean to you?
A: Gradation is an accomplishment of all my hard work. It’s a relief and a path to another point in my life. After I graduate, I want to go off to college and take courses for a business minor and more acting classes at university.

Q: What kind of support have you received from faculty?
A: They offer really good tutoring and care about your mental health. Carly Bellairs helped me with scholarships and answered my questions. Her door is always open.

Q: What are the next steps for you after leaving OCC?
A: After I get my Associate Degree, I plan to go to a university. I will study business while working on acting.

Q: What would you like to say to your friends and family?
A: Thank you for supporting me and especially my dreams and aspirations of being an actress. I admire my parents who are sticking by my dream and what I want to do in life. I also want to thank my friends who support me and are always there.
