All requirements must be completed by the end of the Winter semester in the year of intended enrollment in the Radiologic Technology program. The requirements include successfully completing all prerequisites and general education courses with a grade of ‘B’ or higher.

The professional component begins the Fall Semester each year.

Health care workers are at risk for increased exposure to certain preventable infectious diseases and other health hazards.  It is important for radiology students to be immunized properly for protection against these diseases and/or prevention of spread among patients in the hospitals and clinics. The immunizations must be completed prior to entering the first clinical rotation in the Fall Semester. In addition, students must rigidly adhere to special precautions to minimize risks.

Physical exams and immunizations, including Tuberculosis (TB) tests or chest X-rays, are required before starting clinical which begins on day 1 for accepted Radiologic Technology students.  

Required vaccines: Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), Tdap, Hepatitis B (or declination of immunity), and annual influenza.
If you are placed at a clinical site that requires a specific vaccine or if the requirements of your site change at any time, you will be required to provide proof of prior vaccination or you will be required to get the vaccine. Otherwise, you will be dismissed from the program.  You will not be moved to a different site. Remember, you may be at multiple clinical sites during the program, so there is a very good chance that you will be required to get the necessary vaccines at some point.

Students are discouraged from working throughout the program. The program requires a full-time commitment. Employment could jeopardize valuable study and preparation time for class and clinical. 

No. Clinical assignments are selected for each student based on numerous factors. The distance from a student's house is not considered. Most hospitals are within a 50 mile radius of campus.

If there are more applicants than space, it is possible that one may have to wait to get into the program.
