- The District Equivalency of a corresponding State of Michigan Mechanic Certification is recognized as the course equivalent for Michigan Colleges and Universities
- The State of Michigan and Professional ASE Certifications are the expected outcomes of corresponding College and University courses.
- The State of Michigan and or Professional ASE Certification can supersede 4 semesters
- Although the courses listed above do not need to be taken in sequential order during high school, Oakland Community College reserves the right to determine any pre-requisites prior to granting articulated credit for automotive coursework.
- Automotive students participating in 1 year or longer internships while attending the OSTC NE, NW, SE, SW campuses must provide evidence of earned internship hours to Oakland Community College. Such evidence must be signed by an authorized representative of Oakland Schools.
- High school students must also submit a letter of recommendation from a certified automotive teacher at Oakland Schools as evidence of additional earned certifications, up to and including requirements of the ASE Education Foundation MAST task list.
- Designated automotive faculty representatives at Oakland Community College shall provide all first level reviews for articulation requests to determine if 2- credit hour special topic courses are needed prior to awarding college credit or certifications. Ifsaid special topic courses are deemed necessary, the student shall successfully complete the course(s) prior to any articulated credit award by Oakland Community College.
