Reserve Officer Training
The purpose of the 120-hour Reserve Officer Training course is to acquaint trainees with skills and knowledge needed to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Reserve Police Officer or Reserve Deputy Sheriff.
Trainees for this program are only admitted to the class as a sponsored student based upon the recommendation of a Sheriff, Chief of Police or Director of Public Safety. Trainees are subject to the rules and regulations of the Oakland Police Academy during the training sessions.

Interested candidates will only be admitted after a written recommendation has been received from a Chief, Director or Sheriff of a law enforcement agency, and will be subject to the rules and regulations of the Oakland Police Academy.Trainees must provide appropriate sidearm and leather gear.
