Michigan Achievement Scholarship

Students who graduate from high school in Michigan in 2023 will be eligible to apply for a new financial aid program from the State of Michigan.

Oakland Community College students may receive up to $2,750 per year, up to three years.

Students will be eligible if their family demonstrates financial need when they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Financial need is defined as an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $25,000 or less.

Eligibility Requirements

  • File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 
  • Earn a high school diploma or certificate of completion or achieved a high school equivalency certificate in 2023 or later. 
  • Have an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of $25,000 or less according to the FAFSA. 
  • Enroll full-time at an eligible Michigan institution within 15 months of completing high school.

Follow these steps

1. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This will determine your eligibility for the scholarship.

2. Become an OCC student:  Apply Here

3. Once a student, sign in to your MyOCC and set up your student email

    • Monitor student email for further updates

4. Visit this page for further updates.

    • Proof of HS completion will be required.
    • Enrolling in a minimum of 12 credits each semester is a requirement.

5. Set up your MiSSG Student Portal. You are able to set up 5 days after submission of FAFSA.
