OAKLAND COUNTY, Michigan - The Oakland Community College (OCC) chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) recently inducted 169 new members. It is the chapter’s third group of members to be inducted in one of the nation’s largest leadership honor societies.
Students are selected for membership based on being a newly enrolled student at OCC. Inductees complete a leadership program including orientation, leadership training day, three speaker broadcasts, and several success networking meetings. They conclude with an action ceremony where they received the Certificate of Leadership Training.
NSLS membership is a lifetime membership providing access to scholarships and awards, exclusive on-campus events and employer recruitment through an online job bank. It also includes discounts on computers, textbooks, graduate school preparation courses, insurance and more.
Currently OCC's NSLS Chapter has 778 members, many who continue to work toward their induction.
"The OCC NSLS continues to have a significant impact on our campus by inspiring our students to become better leaders and helping them reach their goals," said Stacey Jackson, Chapter Advisor. "We are extremely proud of our members."
