OAKLAND COUNTY, Michigan – In a male dominated industry, automotive servicing student Ashley Whitted looks to push the envelope by taking advantage of the opportunities offered at OCC.
“I work in the automotive field and there are a lot of doubts from a lot of people because I am a woman, but when I come to class here everybody is just so welcoming,” Whitted said.
“Everybody’s just so nice and wanted to help me. My first day of class I even told my teacher I was as beginning as they come and he’s been nothing but helpful to me.”
On top of the welcoming atmosphere OCC also offers a state of the art automotive setting that includes the latest equipment from companies like Hurco and Mopar to ensure students are ready for employment after graduation.
“People ask me about OCC all the time and I tell them it’s an awesome school,” Whitted said. “You’ll feel welcomed, the teachers are great, and it’s just an awesome place to be.”
