Is my class canceled?
You should check with your professor for each class that you are currently registered in.
Why is Summer not been awarded?
We are currently working on summer applications on a first come first serve basis. Anyone that submitted their application by the deadline will get notification before the first payment date.
Will Summer be awarded by the 1st payment due date?
If you submitted your Summer application by the deadline you will get notification if you are awarded for Summer before the first payment date.
Will the campuses maintain current open hours so students can use library, ASC to use computers and study?
Currently all campus’s are closed to students and visitors, you can reach your desired department by telephone or email for questions.
How/where do I turn in my homework assignments?
You should be contacted by your professor regarding homework assignments.
Is the FA office still open?
Yes. The Financial Resources and Scholarships staff members are working. However, check the main OCC webpage for current information.
How to Get General Financial Aid Questions Answered 24/7?
Search FATV videos for general questions regarding financial aid.
How will the school suspending face-to-face classes affect my FA?
This will not affect your financial aid as long as you are still attending your classes through the remote instruction. Contact you instructor and check your D2L for more information.
How will I know what to do about my classes?
Check your student email. There is also a Coronavirus Announcement page on the OCC website about what to expect.
Do I still need to go to class?
Your classes will go to a remote instruction format. Check your student email and D2L for more information.
Will the school suspending face-to-face classes affect when I get my refund?
No. Refunds should still be sent out on time. There could be a delay for paper checks
if OCC is mandated to close. However, you may want to consider direct deposit. Follow
these instructions:

Can I still turn in my summer application?
Yes. You can still email, fax or mail your summer application.
How can I turn in documents to the FA office if the campus is closed?
Currently there are three ways to turn in documents. Email them to the Financial Aid Office, fax them to 248.341.2250 or mail them in to the Financial Aid Office. You can find the address below.
NOTE: Reminder when emailing in documents change the format to a PDF and send them as attachments. Pasting pictures in the subject box will NOT allow us to view them when they come through.
Will dropping a class due to suspending face-to-face classes affect my FA?
Potentially. You should always contact the FA office before dropping a class.
How should I turn in the Identity and Educational Statement if you need me to sign it?
You can find the form on the OCC website under ‘Student Forms’ Print it out and take it to get notarized. Then email, fax or mail in the form with a copy of you state ID or drivers License.
Can I electronically sign FA documents?
All documents must be signed (signature) in blue/black ink or electronically, i.e., smart phones. A signature cannot be typed.
How can I send in my transcripts?
Transcripts must be sent from the institute to OCC’s enrollment office. You can email to Transcripts Dept. to be processed. Emailing transcripts from the students personal email will make them un-official and will not be processed.
What about fall/winter 20-21 financial aid applications?
A We have not started processing fall/winter 20-21. Processing will start approximately mid-April 2020.
How do I make corrections to my Student Aid Report (SAR)?
If you applied using FAFSA on the web, you can also make corrections on the web. Also, corrections can be made on the Student Aid Report (SAR). Once all appropriate parties have signed the corrections, return to the federal government at the address listed.
