Licensure or Certification Credit

Licensure or Certification Credit

Save Time and Money

If you have valid industry certifications or licenses and you've been admitted to OCC, you may be eligible to receive credit for an OCC course or series of courses and fast track the completion of your degree or certificate. Not yet an OCC student? Apply today.

Here’s How the Program Works

  1. Review the list of courses that accept licenses or certification equivalencies. You may also view these equivalencies via the Michigan Transfer Network. Please note that credit awarded at OCC may need to be reevaluated by a transfer institution.
  2. Complete the form. Please have your license or certification handy.
  3. Email a copy of the current unexpired license or certification for validation by the Registrar’s Office.  Please note that licenses and certifications have varying requirements for when they were obtained or updated in order to be eligible for credit consideration.
  4. Once the license or certificate is validated, credit for the applicable course will be added to your academic record as “pass” credit at no cost to you. No grade will be entered and the credit will not count toward your GPA. These course may satisfy pre-requisite requirements.
  5. You may now enroll in additional eligible courses.

License and Certification Course Equivalencies

If you have any of these licenses and certifications, you may receive credit for these courses.
